1. PURPOSE & COMMITMENT TO SECURITY
At The Fn Key, we understand that granting access to personal or business IT infrastructure requires absolute trust. This agreement outlines our strict commitment to safeguarding your data, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring that our IT and cybersecurity services prioritize your privacy above all else.
2. DATA ACCESS & THE "NO-PEEK" PRINCIPLE
The Fn Key operates on a principle of least privilege.
- Scope of Access: Technician access to client devices, networks, and accounts is strictly limited to what is technically necessary to execute the agreed-upon services.
- Content Blindness: We do not browse, inspect, or analyze the contents of personal files, business documents, photographs, or communications unless explicitly directed by the client.
3. STRICT NON-DISCLOSURE & MONETIZATION PROHIBITION
Any information concerning the client’s business practices, personal life, network architecture, or proprietary data discovered during the course of service is strictly confidential. The Fn Key will never sell, lease, or trade client data, metadata, or contact lists to third parties.
4. DATA RETENTION & SECURE DISPOSAL
To facilitate repairs or upgrades, temporary backups of client data or secure storage of administrative credentials may be required.
- Temporary Backups: Any client data backed up onto hardware owned by The Fn Key will be securely wiped within 14 days of project completion.
- Credential Management: Any passwords provided to The Fn Key for service access will be stored in an encrypted vault for the duration of the contract and permanently deleted upon conclusion.
5. EXCEPTIONS & MANDATORY DISCLOSURE
The commitment to confidentiality is absolute, with the following strict legal exceptions:
- Illegal Material: If we encounter unambiguous evidence of severe illegal activity, services will immediately halt, and the material will be reported to law enforcement.
- Subpoenas: Client data may be disclosed if formally required by a legally binding court order or subpoena.
This privacy and confidentiality agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin.
